The 2017 Ice, Wine, Beer and Blues event will definitely be bigger and better than ever. There will be bigger and better ice carvings as well as tastings of specialty wines from around Michigan and the world and craft beers from two local breweries. In addition, there will be a special featured introduction to the food offerings from “The Fire Hub”, a new venture of the FireKeepers Casino and Hotel to be opening in Downtown Battle Creek.
International ice carver John Merucci will be creating sculptures in Downtown Marshall with a Fire and Ice theme. Look for possibly a fire breathing dragon, ice dancers or maybe even Olaf and much more. A special carving is being planned with assistance from Chef Nicole Cantrell of FireKeepers.
On Friday, February 3rd wine and beer tasting will begin at 6 p.m. at ten downtown business locations and will continue until 10 p.m. Individuals over 21 will be able to purchase a wristband for $20 and receive 10 wine/beer tastings.
In addition, pottery goblets will be available for $10 each beginning on Wed. and Thursday, Feb. 1st and 2nd at select locations as well as day of the event. Goblets are once again being made by EastEnd artist, Romelle Frey. Various styles and color glazes make this a high point of the event.
